Media abuse of children

Oklahoma "journalists" have been reporting one-sided stories, and in turn, abusing children, ruining reputations, and giving false allegations legs to stand on. When will a change be made in our state that stops the nonsense?

  1. The silence is deafening! I think you found a sore spot. DHS's job is hard enough without the abuses of these types.

  2. Exactly! They're overloaded and then you have people bombarding them with false allegations and children who are actually being abused fall through the cracks. I'd like to see those who make false allegations punished so they'll stop!

  3. I'm wondering if Kathy knew the lady in the video before Kelsey's death. Does anyone know? Seems it is in the same time frame.

  4. I'm sure she did not. The woman in the video was seeking media attention, and when Kelsey died, that woman climbed on top of her body and used her for her own gain.

Now a representative who is trying to make a name for himself is using the woman's innocent grandchild. It's all about who you can use to get what you want and they don't care that children are suffering in their wake!

  5. That woman is something else. And what makes it worse is that the media doesn't research it before they give her any air time. I hope that wee child's mother has taken her far and long away where no one recognizes her to avoid being teased and hurt by this kind of attention. How terrible is that to put your own feelings ahead of those you say you love? Disgraceful. Let alone your own flesh and blood? Perhaps it explains why the mother will have nothing to do with her.

  6. Is there any legal recourse the mother can take?...seems the media is abusing the child. With all of the attention given child abuse and the difficulty eliminating it, one would think the media would be one area the lawmakers could control.

  7. Wendy, I wish they had moved away but it's safer for them in their home town even with the rumors and lies because the officials and everyone else who matters knows they are lies. If they moved, they'd have people who didn't know the history or the truth.

Anonymous, I'd like to see some legal recourse taken and I'd like to see laws where the media can't use a child in that way. It IS abuse! The lawmaker shown in the video seems to be more concerned with promoting himself than protecting the child.
